No News is Not Good News: CMPA Test Results Follow-Up

In today’s complex healthcare environment, managing the follow-up of test results can be challenging. Information exchange takes place between multiple providers, using a mix of electronic and paper-based processes. Results can be received in different forms and communicated in different ways, leading to the potential risk associated with miscommunication or follow-through. Recognizing these issues, it is important for physicians to be aware of how to improve their test-results system to provide effective care and improve safety for their patients.
